Military TV analysts were advised by the pentagon to set a certain point of view to capture the Medias attention. They did this by downplaying the war in Iraq and telling Americans how Guantanamo Bay is not as bad as people think it is, even though there are extremely hard conditions there. According to this article, records and interviews show how the Bush administration has taken advantage of its control over access and information in an effort to change the analysts into a kind of “media Trojan horse”. However, the media neglects to reveal to us the background information of these “military analyst’s because they are afraid they wont have any access to the White House or the inside scoop on current or certain situations. From what I was getting out of this article, the military analysts were brainwashing the American people. Some analysts quit the news shows and decided to truly voice their own opinions. This is usually a rare circumstance; however I don’t understand why the media doesn’t stop imitating what the government officials tell them and start offering true contrary views on what is actually going on. I just feel that the United States focuses so much attention on these so called experts who basically interpret information, instead of looking at the facts for what they are.
